Sun 04/28/2024 Arbor Day 15K Williamsburg, VA (York River State Park) 9:00 a.m. The 15k course (9.3 miles) is a mixture of fire roads and single track trails. The trails are technical and rolling- and very fun! Exposed roots, bridges, ravines and fast sections can be found on the route in beautiful York River State Park. We will use the Backbone, Laurel Glen and Marl Ravine trails. The course will be heavily marked with arrows and pink confidence streamers. There are many intersecting trails along the course, if you are confused just make sure you are following the pink streamers and you will be all good! Keep in mind, some of the trails are technical, with roots and sharp turns, so practicing on this type of trail will be helpful. This course is a slightly extended version of the Crazy 8 miler course that is normally held in September. This race replaces that race in 2024. Hikers are encouraged to register and there will be a generous 4 hour time limit to complete the course. Hiking poles can be used. No pacers on the course. Dogs are permitted on a leash, but trails are quite narrow, single file.

Sun 04/28/2024 April Foolish 10 Hour Endurance Trail Run Elverson, PA (French Creek State Park, Pool Area) 9:00 a.m. A PRETZEL CITY SPORTS EVENT. The 4-mile wheel measured loop around pretty Hopewell Lake is 40% paved roads/paths, 55% rustic trail & 5% dirt/stone fire lane. Because of the temps that time of year, the shortened course and little access by car to any mid-course location, water/food/etc. is only available at the end of each lap. The April Foolish 10 hour race lets you run 4M laps as LONG as your knees, nips & inner thigh skin holds up! It is a FUN way for you to achieve mileage you've never run before. And that's the key, since awards are based totally on HOW FAR you run; your "time" only factors in when breaking distance “ties”. Where else can you run for 3 hours, take a nap, go read a magazine on the can and then jump right back into the race??!! MUST complete the entire lap to get credit for any of that loop EXCEPT when you plan to END your day at an exact milestone distance (26.2M, 50k, 50M, 100k) where you’ll run to a turnaround spot and then back to the finish line. NOTE-if we feel that it’s highly unlikely for you to finish a lap by the 10-hour cutoff, based on your previous lap time, you’ll be forbidden to start another lap. This is a very UNIQUE way to race and you’ll achieve some UNIQUE results by doing it. See website for complete evnt details.
