Despite bitter cold, 40 runners commemorated George Washington's Birthday at Potomac Valley Track Club's By George 5K and 10K in East Potomac Park, Washington DC, Saturday, February 19, 2005

James Tugwell, 24, from Washington's adversary, the UK, but now living in Frederick MD, was first to finish the 5K in 16:39.4. Jennifer Chichester, 16, of Washington DC in 20:50.5.

In the 10K, Ted Poulos, 43, of McLean VA ran 38:42.3 to win yet another race. Monika Bracken, 39 of Castleton VA ran 44:27.2 to take first prize among women.

Age-group award winners took home cherry pies, in honor of the Nation's first president.
