The race drew a number of students from South Lakes High School. On the political front, Former State Delegate Chap Petersen, the Democratic candidate for State Senate, and some of his supporters ran the race in 24:25. His Republican opponent, Jeannemarie Devolites Davis, started the 5K race.
The event also included a 1 Mile fun run, which was started by Ronald McDonald. Before the 1 Mile, Ronald also led the kids in a warmup. The Kids also enjoyed a Moon Bounce.
The event was a part of Third Annual Fairfax Trails Day.
