DCRRC Tidal Basin 3K
Washington, DC
Wednesday, June 16, 1999
Conducted by DC Road Runners Club

The 280th Running of DCRRC's monthly Tidal Basin 3K was held on Wednesday, July 21, under cloudy skies, 87o F, on a course modified due to construction on the Tidal Basin side of the Jefferson Memorial. Fred Gedrich and his grandson (!) directed the race.

Warren Kohm of AMS systematically managed the all-American race in 9:03, and Chandler Robbins, 62 years young, was first masters (over 40) runner. Fred's lovely and talented daughter Melanie floated angelically over the course in 11:33, followed four seconds later by first female masters finisher Sandra Adams.
