Rehoboth, DE
Sunday, June 27, 1999
Conducted by Seashore Striders

The Bill Degnan 5k is also called the Faith and Human Spirit run/walk and the fourth annual event held this past Sunday morning attracted a large field of 240 participants that showed up to pay respect for the late teacher, coach, and friend Bill Degnan that was so admired by many. The event is part of the Seashore Strider Racing Series and always attracts a unique blend of participants of all sizes, shapes, and ability levels that have been touched, motivated, or influenced in some way by Bill. Friends, students, and athletes shared memories of Bill as they knew him as a child, teacher, coach, principal, husband, son, school board member, tennis partner, runner, shot putter or what ever their tie to Bill may have been.
