2012 Outdoor All-Comers Track & Field Meets

When:

Sunday, May 20, June 10, and June 24
Saturday, July 07 and July 21
Saturday, August 4 and August 18
Season ends with the POTOMAC VALLEY GAMES September 1 and 2.

Where:

Langley High School
6520 Georgetown Pike
McLean VA 22101 
From I-495 (Capital Beltway), take VA-193 (Georgetown Pike) 1.5 miles east.  Turn left into parking lot.  Track is in back. 
From VA-120 (Glebe Road) or Chain Bridge, take VA-123 (Chain Bridge Road) 3 miles west to CIA.  Bear right.  Take VA-193 (Georgetown Pike) 1.5 miles west.  Turn right into parking lot. 
 

Track:

400M fast, rubberized, all weather surface. 
 

Time:

May and June
7:30 a.m. registration opens
8:30 a.m. first Running Event starts.
8:30 a.m. first Field Event starts.

July and August
7:30 a.m. registration opens
9:30 a.m. first Running Event starts.
9:30 a.m. first Field Event starts.

Registration open all day. 
 

Cost:

$8 non-PVTC members over the age of 18.
$6 PVTC members.
$4 Youth younger than 18.
Unlimited number of events for entry fee.
Preregister for all 8 meets and one free - 8 meets for the price of 7
Open to all comers, all ages

Equipment:

Starting blocks will be available. Track spikes may not exceed 1/4" in length. Throwers are responsible for bringing their own implements. PVTC has some implements available.

Since this is an all-comers meet, your assistance in helping with the conduct of events or meet set-up and clean-up is greatly appreciated. The success of these track meets depends on the number of volunteers we have. Volunteers also help keep the entry fees low for everyone. 
 

Potomac Valley Games:

(Championship meet - open to all) will be held on Saturday, September 1 and Sunday, September 2, 2012. Pre-registration strongly suggested - late fee applies.

PVTC intends to hold all track and field events scheudled. However, PVTC reserves the right to cancel or shorten an event, or the meet, due to time constraints or hazardous conditions. 

Meet is sanctioned by USATF. All USATF registered athletes are covered by the individual insurance. USATF registration forms for 1999 will be available at each meet.

Running Events:

8:30 a.m. 800M racewalk (youth 12 & younger)


          3000m racewalk


9:00 a.m. 300 & 400m Hurdles


9:15 a.m. 1 mile run


          100m dash


          1 mile racewalk


          400m dash


          100 & 110m Hurdles


          3000m run


          200m dash


          800m run


          4x100 relay


          4x400m relay
Running events will be seeded by expected time. Heats start with slowest expected time. 

Field Events:

8:30 a.m. High Jump


          Javelin followed by turbo jav


          Discus follows Javelin


          Shot follows Discus


          Weight throw to follow Shot Put


          Long Jump to follow 100m dash at 9:00 am (10:00 am in July/August)


          Triple Jump to follow Long Jump
   
Unlimited number of events for entry fee.
