Shirley Sameshima claimed her 1st win at a Striders weekly race in the 2
mile event. Stephen Olenick kept close to overall winner, Ted Poulos, but
had to settle for 2nd place. Unfortunately, the top 3 finishers in the 10K
were led off course through no fault of their own on a slightly shorter
course, but would have likely secured the same finish places had they not
done so. Winner, Pekka Stenholm, good naturedly shrugged it off as a nice
training run. Sari Stenholm, ran a remarkably fast 10K to win the women's
race.
