Danny Bennett held off former star runner Steve Kartalia to win the 388th running of this monthly race.
Six-foot-tall Ashley Masters took first place among women, dodging low-flying cherry tree branches all the way.
Runners celebrated Syttende Mai, and Jay Wind noted the 26th anniversary of his Delaware Marathon win in 1980, by wearing that year's race t-shirt.
