Tidal Basin Run, a partner of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, hosted its
Presidential Fitness Runs on the President's Day holiday.
Ted Poulos repeated as winner in the
George Washington One Mile.
Luis H. Navarro led the
Thomas Jefferson 3 Mile (shortened from the James Monroe 5K, just because of the doctrine).
One day after running a sub-3:00 marathon in the Virginia hills,
Karsten Brown raced the
John Tyler 10 Kilometer, over snowpacked Hains Point, followed by
Bill Stahr, Jon Parks, and Kirk Gordon, who all came to Jay Jacob Wind's aid when he tripped over his own feet far from any snow.
Chris Farmer, Lara Lamprecht, and
Bill Guey-Lee ran the paved course on Buckeye Drive instead.
