Presidential Fitness Runs

Tidal Basin Run, a partner of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, hosted its Presidential Fitness Runs on the day before Easter at Hains Point.

Ted Poulos repeated as winner in the George Washington One Mile, setting a new course record while edging out Al Salerno.  Robert Gurtler, overcoming injuries he suffered in a car wreck earlier in the week, won the James Monroe 5K.  And the indomitable Karsten Brown, smarting from his second place finish in the Easter Classic 10K earlier in the morning, was the winner of the John Tyler 10K race.
