Tidal Basin presents Triple Crown Races

  • Tidal Basin Run presented Triple Crown Races with 1.25 miles at 4:00 PM, 1.1875 miles at 4:30 PM, and 1.5 miles at 5:00 PM, on a rainy day that dampened attendance, all at Greenbrier Field near Yorktown High School in Arlington.
  • Kirk Gordon won the Kentucky Derby, but then Eric Johnston arrived and won both the Preakness and Belmont Stakes.
  • Neither Majick Dan nor Seize the Grey attended, as they were in Baltimore for another race
  • Race director James Scarborough brought Gatorade and Nature Valley Crunchy bars.
  • Everyone helped take down the tent and bring equipment to Jay's van and James's car.
