Sat 06/24/2017 Mountcastle Twilight Festival 4 Miler Ashburn, VA 7:30 p.m. The evening's events include a 1-Mile Fun Run at 7:35 p.m. The fast, flat course and evening start make this a unique event you won’t want to miss. Come out to enjoy live music, post race snacks sponsored by Harris Teeter, Burritos from Moe’s Southwest Grill, a beer garden, moon bounces, other great children’s activities, and more! RACE BENEFACTOR: The Mountcastle Twilight Festival will benefit the Foundation set up in memory of Jaime Rowley, an Ashburn area Mom whose life was tragically taken while out for a morning run. Her family and friends have created the Run for Jaime Foundation with the primary focus of promoting runner safety awareness and to support others in Loudoun County who have suffered the sudden loss of a family member.

Sat 06/24/2017 EX2 Adventures Blue Crab Bolt 5K/10K Trail Running Series - Race #1 Gaithersburg, MD (Seneca Creek State Park) 8:00 a.m. Race #1 - Seneca Creek State Park - Gaithersburg, MD The Blue Crab Bolt Trail Running Series is back for round eight. Similar to our Backyard Burn races, these 5K and 10K courses are fun and challenging and include a mixture of winding single-track hiking trails, stream crossings, grassy fields, and minimal pavement. Race in one, two, or all three. A point system adding competitor's three-race point totals will be used to determine the top finishers within each age group of the series. Seneca Creek State Park in Montgomery County, MD offers a wonderful natural getaway that is just a stones throw from the city. Lake views, scenic streams, and miles of single-track hiking trails greet each visitor. These beautiful race courses strings together some of the best trails in the park offering the Blue Crab Bolt competitor a fun and challenging run in the woods.

Sat 06/24/2017 Solstice Stomp Stevensville, MD ( Casciua Vineyards) 5:30 p.m. Enjoy a beautiful 5k course through the grapes rows at Cascia Vineyards along Cox Creek in Stevensville, Maryland during one of the longest days of the year! After the race, kick back and listen to great live music from Penny Pistolero while partaking in a complementary tasting of fabulous wine (21+ years old) in your souvenir glass. Complementary juice, water, cheese and crackers will be available in addition to food and wine for purchase. Blankets, lawn chairs, and strollers welcome. Bib pick up begins at 5:30pm. All registrants will receive a souvenir glass but only those 21 and above may participate in the wine tasting. ID's will be checked at registration. Registration is limited to 250 runners so please sign up early. Parking is limited as well so we encourage carpooling.

Wed 06/28/2017 Summer Decathlon - 1600M Brunswick, MD (Brunswick High School)) 6:30 p.m. On 10 Wednesday evenings each summer we meet at 6:30pm for the Summer Decathlon series. This is a family friendly event! Arrive a few minute early to sign-in. NOTE: While the FHS track is under construction in 2017, we’ll be meeting at other tracks in Frederick County — see the event calendar and monitor facebook and the website homepage announcements to determine the location each week. Format Each evening you can expect the following: * sign-in (no preregistration required) * 1600m warmup (starts at 6:30) * main event (200m through 2 mi, different event each week) (timed) *the main event is run in heats - heat placement is voluntary – runners decide roughly where - they fit based on expected pace - size of each heat is limited, with volunteer race director(s) helping runners to adjust placement based on the size of the field - the number of heats depends on the distance of the race, and the number of people who come on a given evening - an official timer determines the times of each runner to cross the finish line using timing equipment - volunteers write on a card the name and age of each runner and gets the time from the official timer * kids 100m dash (untimed) – freeze pops for the kids at the end * fun relay (optional) (generally untimed)

Sat 07/01/2017 Deltaville 5K Deltaville, VA (Across from Deltaville Community Center) 8:30 a.m. Kids Fun Run starts at 8:00 a.m. Beneficiary: Considered a historical landmark by many, the Deltaville Ballpark has served the community proudly since 1948. With classic wooden grandstands and crab pot wire foul-ball fencing, it continues to be a venue for baseball enthusiasts. Proceeds from this year's race are going towards a campaign to refurbish this aging icon.
