Sat 03/08/2025 #FITDC HerStory 5K Washington, DC (Freedom Plaza) 10:00 a.m. FITDC TO HOST FIFTH ANNUAL HERSTORY 5K CELEBRATING WOMEN’S HISTORY MONTH ON SATURDAY, MARCH 4. Get ready for a downtown DC party featuring a pre-race lineup of speakers headlined by Mayor Bowser, a scenic race route down Pennsylvania Ave, a plaza adorned with quotes for HERstory making women, pop-up exhibits about women's history, and a post-race finish festival with music, giveaways, and vendors from local women-owned businesses. Inspired by Mayor Muriel Bowser and the history-making women of our nation’s capital, the FITDC HerStory5K, powered by AETNA, is a free run/walk that attracts thousands of DC residents and folks from around the country to commemorate Women’s History Month, live and in person from Freedom Plaza. Hosted by FITDC and the DC Department of Parks and Recreation, this annual event pays homage to the 350,000 women and girls living in the nation’s capital, and the 165 million women and girls across the country. The FITDC HerStory 5K is free of charge, open to all DC residents and for all race levels. Residents can submit race registrations at: http://herstory5k.com. Downtown DC’s flat running course along Pennsylvania Avenue will again serve as the perfect backdrop for the race event, which highlights panoramic views of the U.S. Capitol and national monuments. Both dog and stroller friendly, the FITDC HerStory 5K is geared toward families, kids, weekend athletes and fitness enthusiasts alike.

Sat 03/08/2025 Naked Creek Trail Race - 10K/25K Earlysville, VA (Panorama Farms) 8:00 a.m. Thinking about running your first trail race? Thinking about trying a distance just a little outside your comfort zone? Looking for a good training run for Terrapin, Promise Land, or another fantastic spring race on your schedule? Or just looking to have a trail party with the some of the coolest CATs in the area? Whatever your reason or skill level, the Naked Creek Trail Race is the race for you!! The CATs are excited to partner with Panorama Farms and title sponsor Formula Complete Fitness for the Naked Creek Trail Race. The race will be held at the exclusive Panorama Farms, site and 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championship and home cross country course to UVA. Both the 25K and 10K courses will be approximately 90% wooded single track/double track and 10% open cross country/jeep road. The courses will feature spectacular views of the South Fork Rivanna River Reservoir, Blue Ridge Mountains, and spend miles meandering along (and across!) Naked Creek. The trails at Panorama Farms are private land and not accessible to the public, so it will be a real treat to experience them on race day!! The 25K course will feature ~2300 ft of ascent/descent and the 10K course will feature ~1000 ascent/descent. As an added bonus, a portion of the proceeds from this race will go back to Panorama Farms and help support their continued efforts to host local high school cross country meets! Sun 03/16/2025 Shamrock Shuffle 10-Miler/5K & 2-Person Relay Lewes, DE (Cape Henlopen State Park) 9:00 a.m. Join the Seashore Striders for this early spring event on the beautiful GORDON'S POND TRAIL of Cape Henlopen State Park. Choose between the 3.1 mile 5k course or the longer 10 mile course. A great training long run for the Seashore Classic 1/2 Marathon in early May. The start/finish area is located at the MAIN BEACH Lewes parking lot in the northeast corner. See you on the Starting Line for the 17th annual! Relay: 2 X 5MI. The NEW Relay Division will feature Male/Male, Female/Female & Male/Female Divisions. Runners will wear a timing chip on their ankle and manually switch the chip at the 5.0 mile turnaround point. Transportation to the turnaround point at Gordons Pond & back to the Lewes Start/Finish is on your own so please plan accordingly. RACE COURSE: The 17th Shamrock Shuffle 5k/10m is a flat & fast course through Cape Henlopen State Park on the Gordon's Pond Trail of Rehoboth Beach, just north of the City limits in North Shores. The course is out and back with the 5k turning around at 1.55m and the 10 mile run turning around at 5 miles.
